AURORA music album
20.00 €
The seven-string lyre was the «national» instrument of the ancient Greeks for more than a millennium. (8th BC – 4th century AD). The “method of learning ancient Greek seven-string lyre” was based: on the use of a faithfully reconstructed instrument, on the study of all kinds of archaeological and literary sources, but mainly on the experience of the professional musician, on the basis of which we rediscovered the sound and the technical and interpretative possibilities of the lyre.
Blushing Aurora; celestial light that beams on the world. — Orphic Hymn to Adonis
Aurora is the dawn, the sacred wanderer who travels from the east to the west announcing the coming of the sun. On her, the great Homer lavishes his most beautiful epithets such as “rosy-fingered” and “saffron-cloaked”. She is the sister of the Sun and Moon, and the mother of the Morning Star. Today, you can see her in Aurora Borealis; the unique arches of light appearing on the earth’s magnetic field. This album is dedicated to her; the dawn, the messenger, the guide, the traveler, the crier of the light. Lina Palera is a world-renowned lyre player with live performances at numerous concert halls, museums, international conferences, et cetera, such as the Greek Museum of Byzantine Culture and the Frankfurt MusicMesse. She has an extensive discography as a guitar player and a vocalist. “Aurora” is her first music album dedicated solely to the ancient lyre and the emotions it can evoke. She loves teaching adults and children how to play the ancient lyre, and this is why she co-founded and serves as the Head of Music Programs at the Lyre Academy.
