SACRED HARMONY (Healing Mother Nature)

20.00

The seven-string lyre was the «national» instrument of the ancient Greeks for more than a millennium. (8th BC – 4th century AD). The “method of learning ancient Greek seven-string lyre” was based: on the use of a faithfully reconstructed instrument, on the study of all kinds of archaeological and literary sources, but mainly on the experience of the professional musician, on the basis of which we rediscovered the sound and the technical and interpretative possibilities of the lyre.

Sacred Harmony features original compositions written for the ancient lyre, a music album full of healing music for Mother Nature. The album was recorded over the course of two weeks in Aegina Island, Greece, during which some of the greatest SEIKILO affiliate artists came together to create soothing music. Thanasis Kleopas, the Wandering Melodist, meets Theodore Koumartzis on the ancient lyre and Jordan Koumartzis on the upright electric bass to improvise & compose music to soothe the human soul.
